About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable People Business Partner to join our growing People team. This role is based in New York, with a hybrid working pattern from our New York office. While the primary focus will be supporting our Americas employee population, the role will also provide meaningful global exposure, partnering closely with colleagues and leaders across EMEA and APAC.
This is a hands-on role, blending People Operations excellence, partnering with leaders, driving People Operations excellence, and strengthening our organisational infrastructure as we scale. It is ideally suited to someone who has gained experience in a financial services or professional services environment and then moved into a startup or scale-up, supporting companies through Series B, Series C or similar growth stages. The successful candidate will be confident building People processes that are pragmatic, scalable, and agile.
You will be responsible for day-to-day People Operations across North America while acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations & Employee Experience
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle (onboarding → offboarding) ensuring high-quality, compliant, and seamless processes.
- Maintain and continuously improve People policies, handbooks, and procedures across U.S. and global entities.
- Lead benefits administration, annual enrolment cycles, and vendor relationships.
- Support day-to-day employee relations, providing coaching to managers and employees to foster a strong, high-performance culture.
- Ensure accurate and compliant employee records within our HRIS system, support global data integrity and reporting.
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Act as a trusted People advisor to senior leaders.
- Provide guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, and organisational structure.
- Partner with leadership on compensation reviews, promotions, and culture-building initiatives.
Compliance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations across U.S. jurisdictions.
- Support global compliance initiatives in coordination with People teams in EMEA and APAC.
- Ensure documentation, investigations, and People processes meet audit and regulatory standards.
Culture, Engagement & Development
- Partner with global People leaders on company-wide engagement, wellbeing, and DE&I initiatives.
- Support Learning & Development efforts, including training programs, leadership development, and onboarding improvements.
- Strengthen employee engagement through proactive interventions, sentiment tracking, and feedback loops.
Scaling the People Function
- Implement scalable processes suitable for a fast-growing, global organisation
- Identify gaps and propose solutions across People Operations, compensation, policies, and organisational design.
- Bring best practices from prior startup/scale-up experience to support readiness for Series C and future growth phases.
Requirements
- 5+ years in People Business Partner or People Operations roles within high-growth tech, fintech or Saas environments.
- Experience supporting companies through Series A/B/C, hyper-growth, or major organisational scale-up phases.
- Strong background in employee relations, performance management, policy development, and HR compliance.
- Experience operating across multiple U.S. states; exposure to EMEA or APAC regions is a strong plus.
- Comfortable working with HRIS platforms, recommending process improvements, and managing data accuracy
- Strong coaching, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with an ability to influence at all levels.
- Familiarity with compensation structures, benefits programs, and global mobility is advantageous.
- Prior experience in financial services or professional services, followed by startup/scale-up experience, is strongly preferred.
