About the Role:
Role Overview We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the production of accurate financial information, helping the business make informed decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking to develop their career in a dynamic commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the monthly management accounts close, including P&L review, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Working closely with other team members especially the AP team to ensure that all postings are coded to relevant nominals, departments and classes.
Review and approve journals.
Process and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls.
Support compliance with tax obligations including VAT returns and corporation tax schedules across various jurisdictions.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the finance function.
Build effective working relationships with non-finance colleagues, providing guidance as and when required.
Assist in training and supporting budget holders on financial matters.
Support compliance with regional audits

Requirements:
Qualified or part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent), with demonstrable technical accounting experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
Strong knowledge of management accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF(s) etc).
High level of numeracy and analytical ability with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
Strong communication skills, able to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Desirable Experience using an ERP system (knowledge of Netsuite is advantageous).
